Education Assistant Minister Ayiecho Olweny faces defeat in Muhoroni Constituency as his main opponent almost doubled his lead.

Prof Ayiecho is trailing Onyango Koyoo of PDP, with the latter having over 30, 402 votes, against Ayiecho’s 16, 303.

Residents are patiently awaiting the final outcome, with about 20 of the area’s 106 polling stations, yet to be counted.

The constituency has 61,119 registered voters, and Ayiecho has served the constituency for two terms.

He is one of the sitting MPs who faced heckling and jeering in the presence of Prime Minister RailaOdinga, as he campaigned for the presidency in Nyanza Province.

Koyoo, a businessman in Nairobi, has in the last to General Elections contested the seat unsuccessfully.

In Nyando constituency, Jared Okello of Ford-Kenya has more than 13, 000 votes against ODM’s Fred Outa’s 12, 000. Mr Outa is the immediate former MP.

The area has 52, 260 registered, and 97 polling stations.

In Kisumu Central Constituency, the race between Abdul Omar of Ford-Kenya and ODM’s Ken Obura is tight, with the latter being ahead by about 1000 votes. source: standard
