The race for the Nairobi County Assembly rekindled yet another heated political battle between the two giant political coalitions, Jubilee and CORD.
Jubilee Coalition was backing Paul Mutunga for Speaker’s post while CORD is fronting Alex Ole Magelo.
Magelo will now be guiding the 85 county representatives from Nairobi County in debating on the affairs of the County at the City Hall chambers where the assembly will be sit.
Until his election,Magelo was serving as the AFC leopards chairman and will therefore be required to relinquish his position at the football club and take up his new job.
Susan Kihika also beat odds after defeating her male competitors in Nakuru County Assembly Speaker contest and emerging the winner.
George Owino clinched the Speaker’s position in Siaya County while Robert Katina emerged victorious in West Pokot County.
