Benson Wainaina Wairimu and Simon Ngungi Zakayo are said to have committed the crime on April 17th 2010 at Kisii estate in Thika.
The court heard that the two armed with pangas and axes attacked the family of Bernard Ikumbi Mbogo and robbed him of two phones, cash amounting to Kshs. 13,000 and other electronic items before hacking him to death.
The court also heard that Simon and Bernard went further to rape the wife and daughter of the deceased causing them psychological harm and psychological torture.
The senior magistrate said that the witnesses had proved beyond reasonable doubt that the accused were guilty of the charges and are therefore set to be hanged.
The two had been charged with four others who were set free for lack of evidence.
