This saw both party nominees fail to present their papers to the electoral commission on Thursday as they await the outcome of their cases.
In Nakuru Town East David Gikaria got a rude shock when a former Nakuru Town MP David Manyara and Mr Elijah Githee filed their petition through the tribunal challenging his TNA nomination.
Both Mr Manyara and Mr Githee had lost to Mr Gikaria in the TNA primaries.
Mr Gikaria and TNA have been listed as respondents in the petition.
The applicants want the tribunal to annul the nomination of Mr Gikaria and the results he polled during the party primaries.
The tribunal, according to orders issued by its chairman on Thursday in Nairobi, ruled that the Nakuru Town East nominations were not conducted in accordance with The National Alliance Party rules and procedures.
“Second respondent (TNA) after consulting with the aspirants, should take whatever action it deems fit to cater for its interests in Nakuru East Parliamentary seat,” the orders further stated.
In Naivasha the tribunal stopped the nomination of Mr John Karanja Kihagi following a petition filed by a candidate who lost in the primaries.
The Independent Election and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Naivasha constituency coordinator, Ms Mildred Wachiye, confirmed having received the court order.
“A court order has to be respected… It is an order from a legal institution,” she told the Nation in Naivasha on Thursday.
She said the order stated that the IEBC returning officer be restrained from clearing the TNA candidate until fresh primaries supervised by an independent agency is done.
Ms Wachiye confirmed having received communication from the TNA saying Mr Kihagi was the bona fide winner of the party primaries. -(Daily Nation)
