A prominent Nairobi lawyer has accused the Chief Justice Dr Willy Mutunga of polarising the country by announcing that his life is in danger.
In a statement sent to press rooms on Friday lawyer, Harrison Kinyanjui, said the CJ should have reported the matter to the police first and let the law take its course instead of taking the issue to the media.
Kinyanjui said that poison pen letters are common in American FBI and CIA projects, and Mutunga should have used the necessary channels to establish the author of the letter without causing unnecessary anxiety.
Police have so far established the author of the poison pen letter alleged to be written by Mungiki adherents.
Victor Owuor, a Raila Odinga supporter and a resident of Kibera was arrested on Friday and is helping the police to establish who instructed him to write it.
Victor also admitted he is an ardent CORD supporter and that of the Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
