Prime Minister Raila Odinga now wants the National Cohesion and Integration Commission(NCIC) to probe political scientist Mutahi Ngunyi over Tyranny of Numbers analysis, which predicted a Jubilee Coalition landslide win in round one on March 4th general election.
The PM, who is Coalition for Reform and Democracy (CORD) Presidential flag bearer, said Mr Ngunyi’s analysis amounted to incitement along ethnic lines and should be considered as hate speech by national cohesion team.
“If the Kibunjia led commission is really against hate speech and incitement, this really qualifies for incitement.What Ngunyi was trying to do was to incite and intimidate Kenyans,” Raila said.
Raila claimed that the much acclaimed political analyst was mobilising Kenyans to vote along ethnic lines.
“It doesn’t create confidence in our country but spews hatred among Kenyans,” the PM said.
In the hypothesis dubbed Tyranny of Numbers, Mutahi Ngunyi said the March 4th general election was won by the Jubilee coalition on December 18, when the voter registration ended.
“This election was concluded and won on December 18th after the voter registration. Some people slept through the revolution as others schemed,” Mutahi had earlier said.
