Newly created constitutional offices and commissions such as IEBC, CIC, and Transition Authority have also been included in the new pay structure.
Judges of the Supreme Court, Governors, Senators, County wards, Inspector General of Police, Army commanders are also listed in the proposal that that is expected to tame the huge wage bill.
The 4th president of Kenya will now earn a minimum pay of Sh1.3 million pay down from the Sh2.4 million which President Mwai Kibaki enjoys. The highest amount the president can earn is Sh1.7 million that is if he serves more than one term.
Members of the National Assembly who set for themselves pay of Sh851,000 per month will now earn Sh555,696. The maximum pay an MP can earn is pegged at Sh 740,927.
The Deputy President will now earn a minimum pay of Sh1.1 million down from Sh1.8 the current Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has been enjoying. The maximum pay for a Deputy President has been set at Sh1.4.
The Speaker of the National Assembly will earn a basic pay of Sh 1.05 higher than his Senate counterpart who will earn Sh1.03.
The Chief Justice will now take home Sh1.03 while a County Governor will earn Sh 833,755. Senators in the newly created parliament will take home Sh555,696, same as the MPs. The member of the County Assembly will now earn Sh118,181 per month. Councilors in the previous Central Government earned Sh30,000.
