Man hacked to DEATH for allegedly practicing witchcraft in KILIFI

Mwandiza Munga,61, was hacked to death at his house by a group of youths and some of his relatives claiming that he practices archaic diabolic cultural activities and that he has been the cause of people’s misfortunes in the area.
His son Joel Munga, was also seriously injured in the commotion when he tried preventing the attackers from hurting him. Unfortunately, he was overpowered by the mob who killed his father.
In this region, killing of suspected sorcerers is common.
Police say Mwandiza was hacked to death by some relatives at Mbuyuni Village late Saturday and his son sustained injuries while trying to protect him.
According to the Administration police officer in charge of Chonyo Division, Inspector Hamisi Nyoka, Mwandiza’s family members had apparently earlier on converged at their home to discuss the witchcraft accusations when some youth ruthlessly descended on him.
Nyoka said the attackers fled as soon as they discovered the police were coming.
He however reassured the area residents that the police are already investigating the matter and suspects will be brought to book.
