The Gatanga MP said the gratuity pay is illegal because the constitution permits only the Salary and Remuneration Committee to determine the MPs salary and gratuity. He said the gratuity was illegal as long as it does not have the approval of the committee.
Kenneth furthermore said that MPs do not need bodyguards - another perk they have approved for themselves - since their lives are not in imminent danger.
Saying the country needs a fresh perspective in its leadership, Kenneth said that his party manifesto represents Kenya’s best chance to get back on the right path.
Kenneth, in a now common refrain, also blasted the media for selling the narrative that the current contest to succeed President Mwai Kibaki at State House is a "two horse race".
