A New Way to Buy Kenyan Music from Your Phone

As Kenya continues to make a mark in technology and taking the lead in Africa to do so, the entertainment industry in Kenya is also taking advantage of the technology revolution to find better ways to deliver music to the African market and in the process reduce piracy. Together with the launch of the Intel Yolo phone, a new application called Waabeh was launched.

Waabeh is an audio market place made in Kenya and is currently available on the Android Play Store and while it was launched on the Intel phone, it works on all Android devices.

Waabeh is an innovation of 3 young Nairobians who have been in the entertainment industry for quite a while and this is a solution to the many problems artistes face trying to sell their music.

Equally, Kenyans willing to buy music have had limited options and this is definitely a welcome move. Personally, I have bought a lot of international music including some South African tracks from iTunes but for some reason, only very few Kenyan artistes have made that mark. Waabeh gives me the option to buy the music on my phone.

Waabeh is also a sales place for audio books, podcasts, lectures and much more. Go to the Google Play Store and search for “Waabeh” and try it today.
