Addressing journalists at the Orange House in Nairobi yesterday, Prof Nyong’o said that aspirants seeking nominations will have to battle it out with others before being given the green light to vie for the seats on an ODM ticket.
He said that every contestant will be subjected to nominations, adding that they have no plans of giving direct nominations to any candidate.
“We want to assure our supporters and aspirants that no candidate will be given a direct nomination,” he said.
Nyong’o assured all aspirants that the ODM National Election Board will conduct free, fair and peaceful nominations.
He asked supporters and aspirants to remain calm saying that every aspirant will be given an equal opportunity in the nominations.
Nyong’o said that the nomination exercise will be conducted mid next month.
