During the endorsement of Prime
Minister Raila Odinga’s presidency by ODM delegates in Kasarani last week, Wanjiru,
who is also the Housing Assistant Minister quoted a Bible verse from book of
Leviticus and said that since next year is the country’s Jubilee year, Kenya needs
a Jubilee Coalition, Jubilee President and Jubilee Government.
The alliance between Deputy
Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta, Eldoret North MP William Ruto and Deputy Prime
Minister Musalia Mudavadi has been coded “Jubilee Alliance”, a thing which has
made ODM top lieutenants question why the Bishop mentioned the name of their
political rivals in such an important event.
In her response Wanjiru said,
she cannot change what is written in the Bible, saying the “real” jubilee
coalition is Coalition of Reform and Democracy (CORD) and she had no ill motive
when mentioning word Jubilee!
