Eldoret North Legislator William Ruto has said his party must be in the next government come rain or sunshine.
Addressing his supporters in Malaba constituency in Teso North District on Friday, Ruto said his party, the United Republican Party (URP) was the party to watch as it enjoys national support.
He exuded confidence that URP would get at least 110 MPs in parliament.
The fiery lawmaker urged Malaba residents to support him if they wanted to see change.
“We will be in the next government and anyone who is not in URP wagon will be in the opposition next year. We are sure of more than 60 parliamentary seats from Rift Valley alone,” Ruto bragged.
In a thin veiled attack to Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Ruto said Kenyans should not elect tribal leaders who have been in high positions but have failed to initiate developments.
“We should not repeat the past mistakes of voting in leaders on tribal or party lines. Kenya needs a leadership change for it to develop because some leaders have been in high positions in the government but they have failed to initiate development .They should not be allowed to lead this country,” Ruto stated.
