The possibility of a pre-poll alliance between Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto seems more certain than ever today as the two leaders shared a platform for the first time in Narok.
Addressing the multitudes who turned up for the rally, the two leaders said that they are committed to uniting Kenyans and advised their supporters not to read too much into newspaper reports forecasting a split in their alliance;

"Tunatembea pamoja kwasababu tunataka amani tutaunganisha Kenya mzima," said Ruto in Kiswahili.

"Those reading newspapers & those listening selectively to what we say better know we are united and we will unite Kenya" he added.
Ruto added that Kenyans should warm up to the idea of either him or Uhuru being on top of the ticket;
“If Uhuru becomes President and I his deputy, is there anything wrong? And if I become president and Uhuru my deputy, is there anything wrong?” asked Ruto.
 “If TNA and URP work together, they will form the government in the first round. The objective is to bring Kenyans together so that never again will Kenyans fight over political competition,” Mr Ruto said.
The two leaders also said that they wanted to win the March 2013 election in the first round.
Ruto and Uhuru were joined by MPs Aden Duale, Raphael Letimalo, Gideon Konchellah, Mohammed Mahmud of URP and Cabinet Minister Katoo ole Metito, Assistant Minister Jebii Kilimo, MPs Maison Leshomo, Rachel Shebesh and William Kabogo, former minister Julius Sunkuli and Narok East parliamentary aspirant Harun ole Lempaka of TNA at the rally.
