NANDI, KENYA: A man has been imprisoned for life after he was convicted of defiling his nine-year-old daughter.
The court heard that the accused committed the offence between December 2010 and September 2011 at Katanin village in Kilibwoni location of Nandi County.
The girl said her father began defiling her on Christmas Day in 2010 when her mother was away visiting a relative. In mitigation, the man said he was innocent and that the chief who reported him to the police had interfered with his marriage. He was given 14 days to appeal.
