Former Mumias Sugar Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Evans Kidero has expressed fury over Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s move of promising Starehe MP Magret Wanjiru direct ODM nomination for Nairobi governor’s seat.
Addressing a press conference in Nairobi on Thursday, Dr Kidero who is eyeing the Nairobi governor seat on an ODM ticket urged Raila who is the ODM party leader, to stop promising some ODM aspirants direct nominations, saying it will portray a bad image for the party.
“They are trying to hold the party at ransom forgetting that its one‘s policies and agenda that will endear one to the voters,” Kidero said.
Raila promised Bishop Wanjiru direct nomination for Nairobi governor seat last week, after she threatened to ditch the party for Uhuru’s party the National alliance (TNA)
Kidero urged the Kenyan electorate to weigh the presidential aspirants on the merits and not ethnicity.
He said one of his agenda when he becomes the Governor of Nairobi is to make Nairobi a 24-hour city with security for locals and tourists.
