''Following the meeting between Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Eldoret North MP William Ruto on Tuesday, the DAILY POST can now reveal on what transpired during the meeting at former President Moi’s aide house in Karen.
According to a credible source who talked to the DAILY POST on Wednesday morning, the meeting though guarded and limited by the two parties was brokered by a former aide to President Moi who is a close ally of William Ruto.
Raila and Ruto both drove alone to the venue of the meeting without any aides, body guards or drivers.
The two leaders agreed to form a coalition government but for fear of backlash, both leaders agreed to keep it under wraps until December 4th.
The two leaders also agreed on a pre-election arrangement but the source told the DAILY POST that is just a matter of time before they hammer out a deal.
“The Tuesday meeting was not the first one. There have been several meetings between the two and a lot of ground has been covered already. If all goes well, we will have a deal on the table before the deadlines set in law,” the source said.
The source also said Ruto is pushing Raila to name him his running mate. He also wants an agreement that would see Ruto’s United Republican Party (URP) field candindates in all other elective positions.
