Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka received a huge boost on Saturday after Kuria MP Wilfred Machage joined his party the Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM).
Dr Machage, who is also Roads assistant Minister, said Kalonzo is well placed to unite the country and urged Kenyans to support him.
And to strengthen their relationship between Kalonzo and Kuria community, the VP was given the name “Chacha” which means first born.
“We call you "Chacha" today because you will soon be the first in this country’s leadership when President Kibaki retires,” Machage said.
Machage described the VP as an experienced politician, patriotic and God fearing leader.
The Minister vowed to ensure all Kuria votes are for the Kalonzo Musyoka and expressed confidence that the VP will clinch the presidency come March next year.
On his part, Kalonzo who was visiting Kuria District said he will ensure equitable distribution of resources in all parts of the country and thanked the Kuria Community for declaring their support for him.
