A 30 year old man is being held by police in Baricho after he confessed to killing his son claiming that he was not the biological father of his son.
Apparently the man was rescued by the area chief from irate villagers who bayed for his blood after getting wind that he was responsible for the death of his son.
According to police reports, the man indicated that he had received rumors that the boy was not his son thus decided to kill him due to the pain he felt knowing he raised him as his own.
The man confessed to have taken the boy to a borehole where he killed him using a blunt object before dumping his body into the borehole. A neighbor who went to the borehole to draw water saw the body of the boy and raised alarm.
After the burial of the boy, the man confessed to his wife weeks later that he killed his son and his wife alerted neighbors who stormed into the home and bayed for his blood. The area chief helped calm down the irate mob and whisked the man to the police station.
Area police boss confirmed the incident and said that he will be arraigned in court for the charges of murder.
