Restore and Build Kenya presidential hopeful James ole Kiyapi says he is the best qualified person to lead Kenya because he has never been implicated in any corruption deals like most of his rivals.

Kiyapi said he had served in different capacities in the government for many years and that if the people looked at his record and compare where he is they will definitely see he is quite clean.

He claimed that most of those who wanted to be president had been implicated in various malpractices and thus they didn’t deserve to go to state house.

Speaking in Embu at Panesic Hotel where he hosted people from various sectors in a meeting Kiyapi said some of the other presidential candidates who want to go to state house just want to be president to amass more wealth and protect what they have irregularly amassed.

“Look at my history, I have come through a humble background before I reached where I am and everywhere I worked in the government I left it better than I found it and protected the government’s money,” he said.

Kiyapi said He was interested in the presidency to empower the people by enabling them and the country has food security which has been a nagging problem for decades.

He at the same time said he wanted to ensure that the health sector was improved to enable the Kenyans go about their businesses in better health.

The former Education Permanent Secretary said he also wanted to ensure that education was accessible to every Kenyan child and the youth so that they can get skills and knowledge that would help in quick fostering of personal and community development.

“I don’t want to get power but to give the people the power to do everything they want. There is a lot of opportunity that have never been tapped to the maximum,” said the presidential aspirant.

He asked voters not to look at the personalities of the presidential aspirants but at what they are capable of doing for the nation according to their manifestos and ideals. “The next election has to do with the nation and not the personalities,” he said.

Kiyapi said if he will be elected president he will ensure that all the internally displaced Persons will be resettled to new places within 90 days of his rule.

He expressed disappointment that a large number of the IDPs have been have been in camps after over four years after the disputed elections leading to the establishment of the coalition government between President Mwai Kibaki and the Prime Ministder Raila Odinga.
