Profile Introduction
 

Our Client, a fast growing Internet, Satellite TV and VOIP provider operating across the greater East African region, seeks to recruit a Financial Accountant responsible in the delivery of timely, effective and accountable financial support. 

Work involves overseeing financial accounting, reporting and controlling activities of the organization and integrating them to ensure they are carried out effectively. 

Work is usually performed under general supervision and requires the use of independent judgment and initiative while continuing to work within the company’s procurement policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant degree in business studies
• Qualified Public Accountant
• At least 5 years working experience
• Sound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Possess Excel modeling skills.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment
• Self driven and requires minimal supervision

Job Specification - Financial Accountant

• Maintain credit policies and procedures (for subscriber and retail debtors)
• Accounts receivable management
• Preparation and Presentation of monthly management accounts
• Ad hoc analysis, reports and forecasts for  the business
• Bank reconciliations
• Accounts payable management
• Asset Management
• Relationship management with TRA
• Preparing and submitting Statutory Payments
• Stock Control
• Stock Takes
• Stock Management Reports
• Tax returns and assessments

Competencies

• Strong analytical and organization skills;
• Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
