The Kikuyu Council of Elders have distanced themselves from remarks made by Embakasi MP Ferdinand Waititu saying he should be investigated and prosecuted for the utterances.
“As Kikuyu elders we have invested a lot in going round the country to unite our people,” said the Council Chairman Wachira Kago.
He added that Waititu does not represent the interests of Kikuyu Community.
Meanwhile, an MP allied to The National Alliance (TNA) who has always been uncomfortable with Waititu was recently overheard in parliament saying that it’s high time Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta “off loaded” him from his inner circle.
There is a romour doing rounds that Waititu may not be nominated by TNA to vie for Nairobi governor seat.
