KNUT secretary general admitted in ICU

Just at the height of the teachers strike, Mr David Osiany Okuta has been admitted to ICU at a Kisumu hospital after collapsing hours into the strike. Doctors and nurses have declined to comment on his condition. This comes as a setback to the teachers’ strike which has began today.

Last week Osiany looked healthy in a press conference in the company of other officials as he announced that there would be no learning in schools starting today.

The strike coincides with the reopening of schools for third and final term of the year, which will be shorter because of the new regulations only the candidates should be in school when national exams are administered.
