Four people have been arrested at Kirinyaga County on suspicions that they were among a gang of robbers who had attacked residents at Kiangwaci village. The robbers went berserk, robbed and raped women in the houses they attacked.
According to police reports, the gang started by attacking a pastor’s home in the area where they used a building stone to break into the house. They demanded for money from the pastor, he obliged and gave them all he had but the robbers attacked his wife daughter and house help. They raped the three in turns as the pastor watched helplessly.
After the incident the gang is alleged to have gone to four different houses in the area andstole money and electronics before they raped their victims.
The gang however managed to run away though the public tipped police on the whereabouts of the gang leading to their arrest.
Kirinyaga police boss Apollo Anyonyi praised residents for helping them nab the suspects and they will be arraigned in court once investigations are completed.
The rape victims are in a stable condition and still admitted at Karatina District Hospital.
