MAN kills his baby and injures mother with a MACHETE

A 37-year-old man is said to have killed his one-and-a-half-year-old child and seriously injured another in Butere District, Kakamega County
Witnesses say that the man, Francis Obongita also attacked his mother Emily Matini as she tried to rescue her grandchildren.

Residents cornered him as he tried to escape and almost lynched him before he was rescued and taken to Butere District Hospital.

 According to Butere OCPD Paul Wanjama, the accused who at the time of the incident was alone in his house, rounded up his children before attacking them with a machete
“He thereafter turned on the elderly woman. She screamed for help attracting residents,” said Wanjama.

Angry villagers attacked the man almost lynching him before he was rescued by area sub-chief and taken to Butere District Hospital.

When asked by the DAILY POST to comment for his actions, Mr. Obongita said that he is possessed by demons who order and command him to do the things he did.

Area residence and relatives rubbished his claims and vowed to take his life if the police release him.

The police are gathering evidence to take the accused to court.
