A man from Gatundu South constituency is healing at a hospital in the area after he was accosted by his estranged wife and four of his children for allegedly marrying a young petite girl a month ago.
At his hospital bed, Joseph Muiruri said that his estranged wife had visited the home with her daughters a week ago while he was away and hauled insults on the young wife before storming in the house and pouring dirty water on his bed. The woman also decorated Muiruri’s clothes with mud.
Yesterday the woman together with her daughters and his son only named as Mutito stormed the home and beat up Muiruri before tying him up with ropes. They were in the process of throwing Muiruri into the boot of the car they had come with when the young wife saw them.
Her screams alerted neighbors who rushed to the resident and arrested the estranged wife and her children. Yhey were taken to Kimunyu police post in Gatundu South where they recorded a statement and released an hour later.
Maendeleo ya Wanaume Chairman Miriti Njoka termed the release of the woman and her children as illegal and declared that they will file a case against them for battering Muiruri.
