Manchester clubs, City and United have been linked with unsettled Real Madrid play maker, Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portugal ace shocked fans when he didn’t celebrate scoring for Real in the Spanish League revealing the extent of his issues with the club.
“I’m sad because of a professional issue and the club knows why,” he said. “That’s why I didn’t celebrate the goals, because I’m not happy. The people [at the club] know why.
“I won’t talk about this anymore and I will concentrate on Portugal for now. There are more important things.
“The people at the club know about this. I can’t say any more.”
Sir Alex Ferguson, who hesitantly allowed Ronaldo to leave Old Trafford in 2009 would relish the opportunity to work with talented winger again.
However, City will peg their hopes on their financial muscle to register a bid for the player who cost Real Madrid a massive £80m.
Sources further reveal that Ronaldo has told Real president Fiorentino Perez that he wants to quit the Spanish champions.
However, it's also suggested Ronaldo was angered by UEFA's snub last week in naming Barcelona star Andre-Iniesta as European Player of the Year ahead of him.
