EMBU women’s’ representatives stealing from JOB SEEKERS

 Two Embu county women’s representative aspirants were yesterday charged with fraud. 

The two, Mary Marigu aka Mary Fashion and businessman John Ireri were accused of defrauding two job seekers out of more than sh 400,000 in the guise of helping them to be hired by the Kenya Defence Forces. 


The case was adjourned after the senior principal magistrate Lucy Mbugua failed to appear in court.  The court was told that she was away on official duty however sources say that she absconded the case deliberately.  Senior resident magistrate Robinson Oigaram set the hearing for September 13th and released them on a sh 200,000 bail. 

The two face the charge of defrauding one Helen Kagendo out of sh 15,000 on September 29, 2010 in Embu town assuring her that she will join the Army. Marigu faces seven more charges for defrauding Kagendo Mwinzi in Embu and Nairobi on separate dates.

She is reported to have dishonestly and unlawfully obtained sh 440,500 from Helen Kagendo who is an ophan and Esther Mwanziu with promises of securing jobs into the military.
