Seven students have lost their lives after they suffered severe injuries following a
dormitory fire at Moi Girls High School in Nairobi.
The fire incident is said to have been reported on Friday night between 2 am and 3 am.
The cause of the fire is, however, still unknown. The school is taking a tally of the students to
ascertain the actual number of casualties.
Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi’ who arrived at the
scene stated that 10 students had been hospitalised.
"The school will remain closed for the next two
weeks to allow the students to recover from the
shock of the incident," Matiangi' stated.
