DRAMA IN PARLIAMENT: BABU OWINO in trouble for using RAILA ODINGA's name and 'TIBIM' while taking Oath of Office in Parliament

Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino during his swearing in at the Parliament Buildings in Nairobi on Thursday, August 31, mentioned the name of NASA chief principal Raila Odinga, which was not part of the written oath for the MPs.

The clerk of the National Assembly, presiding over the MPs’ swearing in, had to ask Babu Owino to retake the oath, which he did. “I, Babu Owino, having been elected a Member of Parliament do swear in the name of Almighty God that I would bear true faith and allegiance to the people of the Republic of Kenya and Raila Odinga that I will obey, respect uphold, preserve , protect and defend this Constitution of the Republic of Kenya and that I would faithfully and conseciously discharged the duties of the Member of Parliament, so help me God. Thank you. Tibim!
