The amount of money that Sonko receives as salary will leave you puzzled
There is a common feeling among Kenyans that the politicians do not deserve the hefty pay..because they do not deserve it at all!
They take a basic salary of KSh 740,000 and when the huge allowances are added, the pay hits the KSh 1 million mark! All for dozing in Parliament and hurling insults at each other?
That is minus the various amounts they pinch from the public purse now and then and the inflated tenders they are awarded.
That is why when Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko revealed how much he gets per month, our jaws were on the ground.
