Wausi who is now survived by an eight-year-old son served as an instructor at the GSU training school before she was posted to JKIA.
Wausi’s mother, Francisca Kalekye, insisted that her daughter must have been killed.
“As a family, we need to know the truth, we need to know who killed Wausi,” she said weeping uncontrollably
Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana, who attended the burial, said Wausi’s discipline and hard work was evident through her quick rise in the police ranks.
Wausi was honoured with the traditional 21-gun salute during the burial.
The officer was found lifeless inside a bathroom at JKIA
Wausi’s lifeless body was found in a washroom at JKIA with a pistol beside her, reports indicating she committed suicide.
Facebook and Whatsapp messages she posted hours before her death further fuelling the speculations.
