In the past we have heard of the amount of Money that Babu Owino spends in his political campaigns and the values play around millions. He also lives a lavish lifestyle and just last year, the flamboyant career student spent a whooping 2 million on his birthday party. Where does Babu Owino get his money though?

In an interview with NTV on Monday, the UoN student leader claimed that he has worthy investments that fund his lavish lifestyle. Paul Ongili a.k.a babu Owino, however, declined to go into details about his business.

Reports emerging have claimed that Babu Owino earns only sh.6000 as the chairman of the coveted Student Organisation of Nairobi University (SONU) a post he literally spends a fortune to defend. So what is the motivation behind his spirited campaigns to win a seat that pays him money he can easily make, going by his flamboyant lifestyle?

"I earn Sh6,000 per month some allowances here and there. I ran for this position purely because of my hunger to serve comrades. I ensure that Sonu money is used in bursaries for needy students and in our Secretariat and Parliament which is bigger than the National Assembly."

Babu Owino has said he will be vying for the presidency in 2027 while in 2017, he has set his eyes on a parliamentary seat.
