President Uhuru Kenyatta visited Huruma where the 6 storey building collapsed killing at least 8 people.
The President was accompanied by government officials including MPs Rachel Shebesh, Johnson Sakaja and Dennis Waweru.
Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet has ordered the owner of the killer building to surrender himself to the nearest police station.
Rescue operations are ongoing. 134 people have already been rescued and several others still trapped in the building.
A number of buildings around the collapsed one have been declared unsafe and citizens asked to evacuate.
Those who have been rendered homeless following the collapse of this building have been asked to go to Daima School for assistance.
Kenya Defence Forces have been deployed to assist in rescue operations.
Land Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi said the collapsed building was among those earmarked for demolishment.
