Here are things we will remember about Mama Lucy:
1. She was the most vocal and prominent one among the first ladies and often accompanied Kibaki to many of his events. Before her tenure, first ladies were rarely heard of as Moi did not step out with his better half.
2. She will be remembered for her contribution to the health sector which includes the Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital and her fight against the HIV/AIDS scourge .During her tenure; Lucy chaired the Organization of African First Ladies against HIV/AIDS (OAFLA), an organization that acts as a voice and caters for the needs of women, children and vulnerable people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS women and children infected and affected by HIV and AIDS
