Moi University Students from Main Campus were forced to run for safety in the wee hours of Wednesday morning after an electrical fault caused a loud explosion in one of the hostels.
The incident which happened at 5:40 am caused panic and confusion as many students mistook the explosion for a terror attack.
In a desperate bid to save their lives, some students jumped through the windows. 22 students sustained injuries, 11 of whom were hospitalized at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH). The rest were treated at the schools dispensary and later discharged.
