The reports further say the 75 year old had difficulty in breathing at her home in Muthaiga after which she was rushed to hospital.
The former first family’s spokesman has Ngari Gituku has come out to dismiss the claims as mere rumors and that mama Lucy had visited the hospital for just a mere checkup.
“No alarm at all. It’s a routine check up; the kind that your mother and my mother would need to undergo from time to time,” Gituku said.
He went on to add; “Remember our mothers’ health given their age cannot be the same as that of high school girls”
After gracefully retiring, former President Kibaki has kept a relatively busy schedule unlike his wife Lucy. The last public official function Lucy attended was on August 27, 2010 during the promulgation of the Constitution at Uhuru Park.
