Waiguru, who has been a close confidante of President Kenyatta, cited medical grounds as reason for her resignation but snoops from State House say that she was coerced by her boss to do so.
Waiguru’s journey out of the Cabinet started last week after an intel report by NIS indicated that Uhuru is losing Rift Valley to CORD leader, Raila Odinga, for protecting Waiguru and a poll by Infotrak Harris compounded this further.
“The Infotrak poll scared Uhuru even more after the NIS report that he had to axe Waiguru,” a State House insider said.
While releasing the poll, Infotrak Harris boss, Angela Ambitho, revealed that Uhuru’s popularity has plummeted from 59 percent 2 years ago to 33 percent.
On the other hand, Ambitho said Raila Odinga’s popularity has increased from 19 percent, two years ago to 28 percent.
This poll outcome shocked State House mandarins who wanted to keep the NIS report in-house and advised Uhuru to offload Waiguru from the Cabinet because he was losing popularity because of her.
