President Uhuru’s sister Kristina Pratt on Saturday narrated her life experience in Lodwar where their father was being held under house arrest.

She, together with her sister Margret travelled from Gatundu to Lodwar in a relief food truck to join their mother, Mama Ngina who had already moved to be with their father who was serving part of his term in the Northern Kenya.
On reaching Kitale, they stopped to eat as they were very hungry. Both ate food worth 50 cents and saved 50 cents for their father, who thought that she had been killed when colonialists invaded their home to arrest him.

When our father was arrested, I was only a few months old and so I had not seen him. So when we got to Lodwar, I was surprised to meet an old man because I expected a tall, energetic and healthy man. But he was even more astonished as he thought I was killed when the colonialists were arresting him.

Kristina Pratt was speaking at Lodwar Primary School where she started her education in standard one and left when she was halfway her standard three.

She would walk from Kenyatta House, where Jomo was serving his house arrest, to school.

We walked from the house, through the hospital compound then the airstrip and then got to the classroom. This is why I say I am back home because this is where I got my foundation
She pledged to help the school improve and told the residents that Uhuru would visit Lodwar soon.
