Mark, who currently lives in China, shares the same father with Barack Obama. Their father, Barack Obama Sr, married Mark’s mom, a school teacher from Massachusetts soon after his divorce from Barack’s mother. Mark then went to live with his father in Kenya after the father relocated to Kenya. He returned to the US for college, obtaining his bachelor’s degree at Brown University, a Masters from Stanford, and an MBA from Emory University.
He has released an autobiography titled “Cultures: My Odyssey of Self-Discovery” in which he shares details of among other things growing up with his alcoholic father and his tense relationship with older brother Barack Obama.
