Knec releases 2013 KCPE results...CHECKOUT RESULTS

The Ministry of education is currently holding a ceremony to release the results for 2013 KCPE examination. Kimutai Brian (Stewards Light Academy) and Otieno Akoth (Golden Elite Premier) emerged best candidates in 2013 KCPE examination with 444 marks.
Over 844,475 KCPE candidates sat the November national examination in 23,819 centres countrywide. The candidates include 906 from South Sudan. Nairobi County has the highest number of candidates who sat the exam while Lamu registered the lowest number. Parents and pupils can receive their results on mobile phone by sending SMS to short code 22252 soon after the results have been officially announced. 




Knec CEO Paul Wasanga cautioned against sending too many text messages to avoid clogging the system. Wasanga said Knec engaged 132,187 contracted professionals to manage field administration, 24,182 supervisors, 52,730 invigilators, 48,200 security personnel and 7,075 examiners. Education Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi is expected to release the results in a function held at Mitihani house, Nairobi. Best performers in the national exam were given merit awards. 105 secondary schools will be the first to select form one students.
The ministry made a first in the exam results announcement by recognising best performers from the 2012 national exam. Among them were the best girl and boy, top public and private school, public and private school that made the most improvement.
