Some pedestrians say they have been humiliated to find couples undressed on the footbridges especially late in the evening.
Among the ‘fully booked’ footbridges on Saturdays and Sundays include two on Jogoo Road and City Stadium.
The others known to attract couples are in Makadara, on Thika Superhighway, Westlands and Nairobi West.
Some of the footbridge users who spoke to The Nairobian said it gets worse at nightfall. That is when lovebirds start entertaining ideas of breaking the seventh commandment.
“I was crossing the footbridge with my children few minutes to 7pm when we found a couple who had forgotten they were not in their bedroom,” said Richard Muthee, frequent user of a footbridge in Roy Sambu along the Superhighway.
A trader who sells roasted maize at a JogooRoad footbridge however said this is good for his business since several couples who check in thefootbridge to enjoy cool breeze grab a maize cob to munch up there.- The Standard
