IMAGES From Maseno University Student Riots and Looting

Students of Maseno University engaged the police in running battles as they protested over rampant insecurity in the area. The protest which started at 3am was sparked by the rape of a student by an unknown gang.

The riot which lasted for several hours caused business along the busy Kisumu-Busia road to come to a halt after the road was barricaded and property worth millions destroyed.
