Unanswered Questions About the Westgate Mall Terrorist Attack

Just who was the military fighting at Westgate on Sunday and Monday?

We are told by people who were inside the mall during the siege that there were no terrorists shooting at the officers. We hear that the terrorists were contained on Saturday evening by regular, administration and police reservists who arrived at the scene moments after the attack occurred. Questions are now being asked why the military kicked out everyone else and went on shooting till Wednesday and never showed any body of the terrorists who had been killed. Questions are also being raised on who and why the building was collapsed yet the terrorists had been contained in Nakumatt on Saturday.

Still on matters Westgate, why did the military take so long to allow other people, including forensic experts, in? We are told that military also tampered with forensic evidence by busting water pipes, a move that contaminated the scene. Corridors is also wondering why the military wanted to completely demolish the Westgate building despite having declared victory against the terror group.

Lands minister Charity Ngilu moved with speed to replace Ephantus Murage as the director of surveys and replace him with her ally, Cesar Mbaria. Upon receiving his appointment letter on September 13, a Friday, Mbaria wasted no time to break down Murage's door and desk drawers without waiting for an official handover the following Monday. MPs on Thursday in Parliament demanded a statement questioning Ngilu's action and Mbaria's suitability for the job.

Some opposition MPs were recently overheard saying that their next battlefront is smoking out persons in the former regime hanging onto privileges of a long-gone epoch when the law clearly does not allow. They sounded very bitter about individuals using government property illegally. An MP was overheard swearing that she and her colleagues will smoke out individuals who are keeping up to five cars at the expense of the taxpayer. Another proposed to table their findings in Parliament to shame those concerned.
