There is high suspicion in Nairobi County that both Governor and Senator will vacate their seats after assaulting women. Flamboyant Nairobi senator Mike Sonko hurled unprintable insults to Radio queen Caroline Mutoko on Thursday last week during popular Kiss 100 Breakfast show after he was unable to answer justifiable questions. The governor of the city Dr. Evans Kidero followed suit the following day but now slapping Nairobi Women’s representative Rachel Shebesh in public. The video of Kidero slapping shebesh has gone viral and now Coalition on Violence against Women (COVAC) demands resignation of the two for lack of morals and setting a bad example to the youth.
On sonkos issue COVAC said that “The Senator’s behavior demonstrates a lack of respect for women, and an absence of civility and decorum on his part. His vulgarity live on the radio listened to by the whole country including children bespeaks a man who has forgotten that as a State Officer he is to lead by example”. Earlier the coalition had condemned Kidero’s act and thus the two leaders are likely to lose their seats if proper ruling is given according to COVEC.
