Attorney General, Prof Githu Muigai has launched scathing attacks at the International Criminal Court (ICC) Chief prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, for that he revealed that the prosecutor accepted a letter by AFRICOG that opposed the holding of UHURU and RUTO’s trials in Tanzania.
In his statement this Monday, AG Githu asked the ICC to clearly explain the reason why Kenya was not given a chance to respond to all the dirty allegations made by AFRICOG before decision was made.
“These are the acceptance of an open letter by a stranger to the proceedings and it’s placing before the judges for deliberation without the permission of the court being sought,” the AG said.
The AG who is a senior counsel in Kenya wanted to know why the late filling of documents by Fatou Bensouda and acceptance by the registry was made without leave of the court. Muigai categorically said that the claim by the activities that the situation in Kenya is untenable to the holding of the trial or part of it reads mischievousness by these activists because making a decision without reference to the government is a concern.
Information from credible information reveal that Nine Judges voted for the application while five voted against it. However, Fatou Bensouda’s protested in the last minute and changed her mind over the decision reached that coincided with the receipt of an AFRICOG letter that was written by ICC mole Gladwell Otieno.
