Chelsea's preparations for their game against Inter Milan took a slight turn towards the bizarre when what looked to be David Luiz II turned up and created his own sideshow.
The Blues were training in Washington ahead of travelling to Indianapolis for their match against Jose Mourinho's former side early on Friday morning.
Luiz's doppelganger turned up for an impromptu meet and greet with his idols, who even allowed the supporter to join in with a bit of training.
It's fine lads, I'm harmless: A Chelsea fan decides to manufacture his own meet and greet at training in Washington
Starstruck? Michael Essien wanted a snap because of the likeness between the supporter and defender David Luiz
Take the ball with you: The fan tries to show off but seems to miscontrol when the pressure's on
Doppelganger: Jose Mourinho looks perplexed at the lookalike's appearance
Give it! The Fake Luiz looks even more demanding than the man himself
Mourinho looked perplexed as Luiz II took over, demanding possession and trying to impress. It doesn't look likely he'll gain a contract at Stamford Bridge though, after stumbling over the ball up against Michael Essien.
Luiz took it in good humour - posing for a picture with the fan, even if he did wear a 'Ramires 7' shirt.
And the session ended well, with most of the Blues laughing along as the youngster made the camp his own.
Smile: The Chelsea squad were happy to pose for a picture afterwards, with the fan not looking at all fazed
This one's for you, David: Luiz II singled out his hero for a special mention while giving a team talk
Must've done something right: John Terry's all smiles
It was eventually down to business, however.
Chelsea play Inter (1am UK time) at the Lucas Oil Stadium in the Guinness International Champions Cup, with Mourinho looking forward to the run out.
'Inter are a good opponent,' he told the club's official website. 'Not many teams in England play the way they do; they play with five [at the back], four [in midfield] and one striker.
'They play strong, direct football and are very good on the counter attack, so it will be a good experience for us.'
Time for business: After the interlude, Chelsea got down to training for their game against Inter Milan later tonight
Mourinho will be without Frank Lampard and Andre Schurrle, both missing out on training, but the manager revealed they should be back in contention soon.
'Frank is recovering but of course we don’t want to take risks,' he said.
‘Hopefully he plays this week, I won’t say the second match but maybe the third or fourth.
'Andre is ill, it’s as simple as that. He has a temperature after Asia but it’s not an injury, he’s just ill, after tomorrow he should be back in training.'
