President Kenyatta Declares All Cabinet Positions Vacant, Grand Coalition Govt Dissolved

President Uhuru Kenyatta has declared all cabinet positions vacant effective midnight April 9, 2013 following the swearing in of a new president. Permanent Secretaries/Accounting Officers will continue to hold their offices and will be in charge of their respective ministries until new Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries and appointed and confirmed by Parliament.

The president also declared that the Grand Coalition government created under the National Accord and Reconciliation Act of 2008 came to an end on midnight of April 9, 2013.
