Ruto, through his lawyers, says the scheduled trialstart date of May 28, 2013 is not viable as the prosecution was late in disclosing evidence, and his lawyers will therefore need more time to prepare for his defense.
He is accused of crimes against humanity in the violence that occurred in the country after the 2007 general elections.
