How Social media reacted to Uhuru's swearing in

Kenyans on social media on Tuesday praised President Uhuru Kenyatta’s inauguration.

Those in the diaspora also used the platform to send their congratulatory messages to the new leaders.

“Wow! On behalf of Kenyan community in Swaziland! We say bravo and siabonga kakulu!” said Martinscotsfield.

Zain Verjee, a Kenyan anchor at CNN, said: “Watching inauguration in Kenya. I am proud of Kenya today.”

“In all things, we thank God this far He has brought. May God give our President and his deputy wisdom from above on how to lead this nation. May God bless our outgoing President Mwai Kibaki give him good health and long life,” said one Irene Patrick.

Some called for their fellow Kenyans to reunite and forge forward with the new government.

True KanaTrue Kana said: “As we celebrate the inauguration, let’s ponder ways to reunite Kenyans. Our nation is split down the middle!”

Others praised the presence of First Lady Margaret Kenyatta and Mrs Rachel Ruto at the function.

“Prayerful leaders and their first ladies. A good start for this lovely nation!” said David Muriithi.
